FAQ

  • What is the Atlanta Women's Agenda?
This is an initiative of Mayor Shirley Franklin to give a voice to women's issues in Atlanta, and bring partners to the table who can help shape solutions. AWA has an advisory council made up of a cross-section of the community who meet quarterly and give feedback and direction.

  • Who Staffs AWA?
Stephanie Davis is the Policy Advisor on Women's Issues to the Mayor and is charged with developing the agenda and coordinating the quarterly Roundtables. She is a part-time consultant who recently served as the CEO of the Atlanta Women's Foundation and was on the first City of Atlanta Commission for Women.

  • How is AWA funded?
A small grant from the Mayor's Office funds the activities as well as grants from corporations, foundations and individuals. This year, funding was received from the InterContinental Hotels Group, Northside Hospital, Tenet, The Machamer Trust, and the Atlanta Women's Foundation. AWA also receives inkind support from Arnall, Golden & Gregory which provides luncheon meetings for the Advisory Council, and from the League of Women Voters Atlanta/Fulton which provide volunteers and catering for the Mayor's quarterly roundtables.
